Automobile Airbrushing: Learn the Basics

The methods of applying automobile airbrushing are many, yet many are either not effective or too expensive. I want to share with you a few simple tips that you can implement right now in your own home to give you results in a matter of minutes. The techniques are also cheap and available to anyone.

You may think that spray on airbrushing is not the best technique for you: because it is somewhat of a new concept. The reason it is not so new is that aerosol cans have been around for decades, and they have proven their effectiveness over again. Also, you do not need a degree in chemistry to know how to use spray on airbrushing.

One of the most important tips: when it comes to spray on airbrushing is to use a primer before you apply the paint. I am not talking about any type of paint that you already have on the vehicle. It is much better to remove all of the old paint from around the door and trunk areas of your car. This step will make the surface of your car shiny and clean. After you sand the door, you are ready for the next part of the technique.

After you sand the door, you will need to prime it with an automotive primer: This is just like painting your vehicle, except it does not come with the spray on application. There is an automotive primer that looks just like paint, but it has the power to be a sealer and protect the paint even after the airbrushing is applied.

Before you apply the spray on technique to your automobile airbrushing: you should apply a clear coat to the vehicle to protect it. The clear coat acts as a barrier between the actual paint that is sprayed on, and the airbrushing chemicals. Another common question about this technique is whether or not to use a color sealer. A color sealer will give you the effect that you are after without any extra work.

Now that your automobile is protected and ready for airbrushing: you will need to use the chemicals that are contained within the paint. These chemicals will allow you to apply the paint in a steady and even fashion so that everything will be blended properly and look right. There are many other types of chemicals that you can use for airbrushing, but the most popular are muriatic and methacrylic acid.

Just remember that your technique will need to be perfect if you want to get great results with this type of technique.
